We have been created to exploit the intellectual property arising from biomedical research carried out with the PCMD and its founding partners the The University of Plymouth and the The University of Exeter.

For over 5 years we have been working with researchers as a conduit to realise the commercial potential of their work and help investors uncover the opportunities that research across PCMD delivers.

We provide expertise and resources needed to manage and exploit the innovations resulting from research and teaching programmes by providing researchers with:

• - Commercial advice
• - Intellectual Property (IP) evaluation and protection
• - Collaboration opportunities
• - Potential to exploit intellectual capital through licensing and spin-outs

We are looking for research leading to novel concepts and technologies.

Many researchers with the PCMD are honorary appointments seconded from NHS Trust hospitals in the region and the intellectual property (IP) being created by PCMD will be developed and used in an NHS clinical healthcare setting.

All commercialisation strategies are agreed by the Knowledge Transfer Committee chaired by Professor Sir John Took the Dean of PCMD.
